John Evans, Transport
Manager, Owens Distribution
"Gareth Berrill came to us straight from a forces resettlement
course with Big Wheelers and has been here for a couple of
months now and is doing very well.
The customers like him, he’s very punctual and thinks
for himself outside the box. He tries to sort out any problems
he meets when out on the road, but if he needs to he will
check in with the office. He doesn’t just give up.
I find most ex-service personnel are like that, give me 10
of them anytime!" |

L/Cpl Gareth (Junior) Berrill,
Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers
"I was in the Army for 7 years
and decided I wanted to leave so I went to the resettlement
centre to decide what to do with the rest of my life.
I saw a Big Wheelers leaflet explaining how they could give
me training towards becoming an LGV driver in civvy street
and could also get me a job. I decided that this was the resettlement
programme for me as it was not a certificate collecting exercise,
they would actually get me a job.
It was a very good course, very informative, excellent training,
the instructors really know their stuff. Big Wheelers then
got me a work placement with Owens Distribution and I’m
still here. I would like to say a big thank you to all the
Big Wheelers team." |

C/Sgt Dave Murton, Band of the
Irish Guards
"After 22 years service I was
wondering what to do when I left the army. I decided on a
complete career change from playing the trombone to driving
LGV’s as I already had my Cat C licence.
I went to my resettlement centre and spoke to my resettlement
officer who gave me a list of companies that could help. I
decided on Big Wheelers as they not only offered training
in the skills I didn’t have, they could also get me
a job as well.
The conversion training was 1st class, and I also took my
C+E licence.
The whole conversion training and work placement programme
was fantastic and helped me out no end.
I really enjoy my new life in civvy street and I’m sure
you will as well if you go with Big Wheelers." |
